A capacity crowd of parents, students, faculty and concerned citizens packed Thursday’s meeting of the Allegany County Commissioners voicing concern with the future of the proposed new Allegany High School. Two weeks ago bids for the project came in 15 to 20 million above projections, leading to some speculation that the project may be dead- or that the idea of consolidation of Fort Hill and Allegany might be considered. The commissioners were quick to shoot those rumors down, with Commissioner Jake Shade saying that while it will have to be a scaled back project- a new Allegany High will come to fruition….
