During the week of June 22nd through June 28th, the Allegany County Sheriff's Office conducted a three day criminal enforcement initiative throughout the Georges Creek Area of Allegany County, Maryland.
The focus of this enforcement detail was to target the flow of drugs coming into this area. As a result of this initiative, a total of 36 traffic stops were conducted which resulted in the following: 6 drug investigations, 2 DUI (driving under the influence of heroin), and one out of county arrest warrant being served. The Sheriff's Office will continue to run further initiatives in the upcoming weeks throughout areas of the county in an effort to stop the flow of narcotics coming into our county.
