On Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 the Cumberland City Police arrested Laken Shae Mallow, 29, of Flintstone MD. Mallow was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to appear in court on September 24th, 2018 for a previous charge of driving on a suspended license. Mallow was taken before the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where she was released on her own personal recognizance.

On Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 the Cumberland City Police arrested Jeremy James Arnold, 39, of Cumberland MD. Arnold was arrested on two outstanding bench warrants for failing to appear in court on February 28th, 2019 for a previous charges of trespassing and fourth degree burglary. Arnold was taken before the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where he was released on his own personal recognizance.

***Criminal Summons Arrest***
On Wednesday, March 13th, 2019, the Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Bruce Allan Sarver Jr, age 36, of Cumberland Maryland. The criminal summons was in reference to an incident on March 5th, 2019, where the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Karns Ave for a reported assault. Once on scene, officers contacted the victim of the alleged assault. The victim advised that they had gotten into a verbal altercation with Sarver due to his level of intoxication. The victim advised that they attempted to leave the home when Sarver attacked them, striking them and pushing them to the floor. Sarver then left the home prior to officer’s arrival on scene. Attempts were made to locate Sarver but he was not able to be located. Due to the victim’s statements and visible signs of injury, an application for charges was filed on Sarver. A criminal summons was issued, charging Sarver with second degree assault. Sarver was served the summons and released, pending trial in District Court.

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Billy Eddie Holden Jr. The warrant was issued as a result of Holden failing to appear for his court case. Holden was originally charged with disorderly conduct. He was arrested and taken before the District Court Commissioner for his bond hearing. Holden was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $1,000 bond.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, the Cumberland Police Department served two Circuit Court bench warrants on Charles Layton II. One warrant was issued as a result of Layton failing to appear for a child support contempt hearing and the other warrant was for violating the conditions of his probation. Layton was arrested and held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Randy Walker. The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred earlier this month. On February 5, 2018 at approximately 8:22 PM, officers responded to a Seymour Street residence for an assault complaint. Officers contacted an alleged victim who reported that Walker had assaulted him by striking him with a closed fist. Charges were filed by police at the District Court of Allegany County and a summons was issued. Walker was released after being served.
