On December 26th, 2016 the Cumberland Police arrested Tanner Mullen, 20 years old of Lavale, MD for possession of marijuana. Mullen was stopped as a result of a traffic violation. When the officer contacted Mullen, he was able to detect the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of marijuana located in the vehicle. Mullen was arrested for possession of marijuana and taken before the District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. Mullen was released by the Commissioner on his own recognizance and is pending trial.

Assault Arrest
On December 26th, 2016 the Cumberland Police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Race St for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers contacted the male victim, who reported that he was struck in the head with a coffee cup by his father, Edward McDaniel, age 53, of Cumberland, MD. The victim sustained visible injuries and Edward McDaniel was arrested as a result of the incident. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and held on $3,000 bond at the Allegany Co. Detention Center.

Criminal Summons
On December 26th, 2016 the Cumberland Police served a Criminal Summons on Nicholas Kneisley, 24 years old of Cumberland, MD. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on November 11th, 2016 when the Cumberland Police responded to a residence on the 1400 block of Virginia Ave for an argument. When the police arrived on scene, they contacted the male victim. Through the investigation, officers learned that Nicholas had assaulted his brother, causing injuries. The victim was ultimately transported to the hospital as a result. Nicholas had fled the scene prior to officers arriving and charges were filed. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault and is pending trial.

Arrest Warrant
On December 26th, 2016 the Cumberland Police arrested Tammy Iliff, 45 years old, of Cumberland MD, for two outstanding warrants. Iliff had a Circuit Court warrant for Violation of Probation originating from CDS related charges. Iliff also had an additional warrant stemming from a Maryland State Police investigation, where Iliff was identified as a suspect in a theft and fraudulent check scheme. Based on the investigation, Iliff was charged and arrested on the warrant. She is currently being held without bond on the Circuit Court Warrant and on a $3,000 unsecured bond for the second warrant at the Allegany County Detention Center.
