The Allegany County Department of Public Works Utilities Division has scheduled fire hydrant flushing during July. Residents may experience some water discoloration during the flushing process. Mark W. Yoder, P.E., Utilities Division Chief, recommends that residents run water for several minutes until it is clear before using it.
The Utilities Division personnel will wear Allegany County identified safety vests during this work. Questions may be directed to the Allegany County Department of Public Works – Utilities Division – Bowling Green Field Office, 301-729-3311, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
