Allegany County is continuing to move forward in an effort to renovate the communication systems at its 911 center. Last week the commissioners introduced a $9 million bond bill authorization- with $5 million of that targeted for new EMS radios that puts the county on a 700-megahertz system. The Allegany County 911 Joint Communications Division is part of the county's department of emergency services and some of the equipment and systems dates back several decades.
