The Mayor and City Council of Cumberland will meet Tuesday at 5:30 in Executive Session to discuss the acquisition and disposition of the former Brunswick Hotel site, and discuss a strategy with City Solicitor Michael Cohen. The city now holds the mortgage on the property, and there is a potential auction set for later this month.
The Mayor and Council are expected to accept a pair of grants associated with law enforcement. One, in the amount of about $12,000, will assist in the acquisition of tasers and other less lethal weapons, while another will see over $5,000 to assist with body armor for the police department. That requires a 50% match.
