Maryland will bring its statewide correctional officer recruiting campaign to Hagerstown Saturday and Sunday hoping to fill its ranks by allowing candidates to apply and test on the same day.  The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday  at the Valley Mall. Department officials will be there until 5 p.m.  Candidates can take the department’s entry test at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days. The two and a half hour video tests presents applicants with scenarios they would face in correctional facilities to test their judgment. Officials hope to speed up the hiring process by offering the test on the same day.  Secretary Stephen  Moyer will attend the event after 1 p.m. on Saturday. Deputy Secretary of Operations Michael Zeigler will also be available in addition to current correctional officers.
