In comparison to earlier meetings of the Allegany County Board of Education, this one was rather tame, with no open bickering between members of the board. However, there was a constituent who let the majority of the board know her feelings during the public commentary…
Members Farrell, Bohn and Foote chose not to respond, and while members Fraley and Frank did not comment on the content, they did applaud the constituent for coming forward with her concerns.

I don’t know the lady who spoke out, but God Bless Her, she is exactly right. It’s time for a few credible people to run for the school board. It’s time for the amigos to vamoose!

> I don’t claim Dr. Cox is perfect. No one is. He has done a decent job in a financially challenged system and the attacks on the Chinese program are like something out of a 50′s red scare movie. There may be legit issues about the program, but so far all the ones raised have been answered and not disputed. There is what people know and what people think they know. There ‘amigos’ have their agenda and they are too lazy to really work to understand how the BoE functions and what is real and what is not.

Whoever these parents are they are the same bunch who don’t handle 2 1-A High Schools in Cumberland because they don’t get to play a ghetto High School in Baltimore. They care more about sports then education. They are probably the same ones who stayed home and never voted

> This really has nothing to do with anything. The folks at the board who made a new school possible are not really big football fans, and contrary to mythology were not worried about the rivalry ending. For people who are concerned about that maybe the policy that allows kids to move out of their district to play where they want is a bigger problem. The young kids all play on the FH feeder youth league teams and wind up at FH. It is unfair to expect Alco to build with what’s left from diminished ranks – yet they manage to be competitive because they really do care.
The system has its problems – all systems do, but the “amigos” are not in any way, shape or form part of a solution. Two want money, one is just wandering around. Not a good look.

Besides other then Joe Biden the Dems are pretty much backwards and out of touch with crazy ideas. They want to impeach Trump except they are running to beat Trump and no one running for President has ever called for impeachment of a sitting President they want to impeach.

> The gentleman just likes to throw in the names of Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden occasionally (constantly) to be used as swear words. Seemingly unaware that this is a Republican party county, city, state he uses Democrats like the monster under the bed just lurking there to get you if you fall asleep. Not being aware of the actual political makeup shows who’s really asleep.

> Bernie Sanders is an example because he for the majority of his life admired the Soviet Union and other communist governments. They did stuff that is backwards. They even had places that made stuff that no one wanted. Anyhow many of the parents who blasted the BOE never even cared. 2. Cox forcing the driver to miss half of the pickups is accurate because it happened on Frederick Street and Bedford Street. 3. Actually Bernie and Biden do get wins in some precincts so they do factor.
4. Yes the Chinese Immersion program needs to be questioned but if the 3 concerned members don’t get the answers it is possible they can simply not have it in the next school year.

Joe Wellburg stated that the Soviet Union “had places that made stuff that no one wanted”. Well, today, here in the USA, land of the free and home of the brave you can purchase a ceramic coffee mug that is WiFi connected so that you can control the temperature of your coffee using your smart phone. Only $79.99. Is this something you want? The Soviets had no monopoly on stupidity.
