The Allegany County Commissioners received their first public briefing on the proposed FY 2019-2020 budget Thursday afternoon- with Finance Director Jason Bennett pointing to a tight financial situation ahead- but an overall said the county’s fiscal picture is good. Property tax revenues are as high as they have been since 2009- and the county has a healthy budget surplus of $25 million.
