Commissioners Introduce Bill To Create Incentives For Residential Development

The Allegany County Commissioners voted unanimously last week to introduce a code home rule bill that will create a number of incentives for residential development in the county. A public hearing on the proposed program will be held next week and if there are no major objections it will be approved at a meeting in June. With 75% of the counties housing stock having been built prior to 1970- the county hopes the new incentives will lead to a spur in new housing development opportunities. County Commissioners President Jake Shade said he is excited to see such program developed and he is certain the county will see some tremendous benefits…
