The Allegany County Commissioners begin the FY 2020 budget process in earnest today with the first of two scheduled days of budget hearings from outside agencies. The commissioners will hear from ten groups’ today- and eleven more in two weeks. While it will be another tight fiscal year for the county- Jason Bennett, Allegany County finance director, told the Rotary Club this week that overall financial health of the count y is good. He noted that despite flat growth during the past decade, the county has maintained balanced budgets and favorable credit ratings.
