The yearend statistics provided by the state of Maryland shows Allegany County with a 7.1% unemployment rate- however County Commissioner Bill Valentine says he doesn’t believe the job picture is that bleak locally.  Valentine says it’s important to look beyond the percentage, and to study the numbers in more detail. He says when looking at the number of those without jobs compared to the number of listed job openings- the unemployment numbers could shrink dramatically…
