Commissioner Shade emphatically states that a tax hike is out of the question but he has not stated that there will be no NEW taxes. The County can always find some novel new tax to fill the coffers.
The State has the so-called flush tax in place to cover Bay restoration. What if the County adds a surcharge to cover the use of local sewerage piping and treatment? This is just one idea that could be added to our tax bills.
