The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Tuesday, Courtney Mae Colmer, Lonaconing, was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Distribute heroin and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, related to the distribution of heroin, in the Circuit Court for Allegany County.
After the guilty verdict, the Honorable Jeffrey S. Getty, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Colmer to eight years’ incarceration, with five years of the term suspended, in the Maryland Department of Corrections, stemming from the felony verdict of possession with intent to distribute heroin. Colmer was also sentenced to twelve years’ incarceration with seven years suspended for CDS: Common Nuisance: Distribution of Heroin, which will run consecutive. Upon Colmer’s release, she will serve three years supervised probation.
The case was the result of an investigation, conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, into the distribution and sales of heroin in Allegany County. During the investigation, Detectives executed multiple search and seizure warrants at a residence on Robin Street, Lonaconing, in July and August, 2017. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of heroin in sufficient quantity to indicate sales and distribution.
The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by Sean P. Gallagher, Esq.
