On Tuesday, October 13, 2015, Allegany College of Maryland will host the 48th Annual Tri-State College Night in the gymnasium from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Allegany County Guidance Counselors Association in partnership with Allegany College of Maryland and its Advancement Office staff and strives to help high school students make educated decisions about post-secondary plans.
The Tri-State College Night provides students and parents with an opportunity to explore various colleges, universities, and career and technical schools as well as branches of the military and their service academies. More than 70 of these schools and military organizations will be represented at this year’s event. Over the years, this annual event has attracted students and parents from Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania in search of information that will help them make solid education and career plans after graduation.
Four high school students attending the event will be awarded, by random drawing, scholarships ranging from $200 to $500 for a total of $1,400 to help them further their education. Two $200 scholarships will be awarded to high school juniors and two $500 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors. One of the $500 scholarships is designated for a senior who plans to enroll in Allegany College of Maryland.
