The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) is prepared for a coastal winter storm that will impact Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore this weekend. SHA treated roadways with salt for the recent storm and the residual on the pavement will serve as pre-treatment as the precipitation starts.
“The coastal storm is forecasted to impact areas south and east in our State, but we are prepared for any changes that may impact the metropolitan areas,” said SHA Administrator Gregory C. Johnson, P.E. “We ask that travelers make smart and informed travel choices based on weather conditions and delay travel during snowfall so crews can effectively treat roads.”
