On Friday afternoon 2:33 p.m. officers from the Cumberland police department responded to Boone Street for an assault.
Upon their arrival, the officers spoke with the victim of the assault. According to the victim, during an argument she was strangled by her sister, Michelle Lynn Davies. The officer observed injuries on the victim’s neck that were consistent with her statement.
The officers also spoke with a witness in the area who provided confirmation of the victim’s statement.
As a result, Michelle Lynn Davies was placed under arrest. She was transported to the station for charges and processing. Davies was later transported to the District Court Commissioner’s office for her initial appearance. As a result of the hearing she was held on $8,500.00 at the Allegany County detention center.
The victim in the matter did not require medical attention as a result of being assaulted.
