You don’t have to go to New York City for a festive New Year’s Eve atmosphere. Cumberland will continue the annual tradition of ringing in the New Year with a family-friendly celebration downtown. The mayor and City Council will host the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop & Fireworks at 10:30 p.m. on the downtown mall. Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim will once again launch confetti and balloons from the rooftop of the Cumberland Arms building on Liberty Street and a live video feed of Times-Square in New York will be projected on the side of a building as revelers count down to 2018.
