The warrant charges Dean with 2nd Degree Assault, Malicious Destruction of Property -$1,000, and False Statement to Officer. The charges stem from an investigation the Cumberland Police began April 5, 2018. In that incident, the Cumberland Police responded to the 200 block of Greene Street for an assault complaint. There they made contact with Dalton Thomas Dean who advised he had been assaulted by an adult female. Dean provided information about the location of the incident and other details of what occurred. Through the investigation police learned the evidence did not match the story Dean had provided and that Dean had assaulted the female on several occasions throughout the incident. It was also learned the male had punched the window out of her car and broke her cell phone. An application for charges was filed with the District Court Commissioner and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
