Just before 11:00 PM Saturday, Cumberland Police officers were called to a Maryland Avenue business for a report of two suspicious females outside in a vehicle.
Officers arrived and made contact with Tischicca Rashawn Brown and Shana Dakota McGann. While speaking with them officers believed that it was possible that they were involved in drug activity. A police K9 was summoned to the incident location. A free air sniff was conducted and the K9 gave a positive alert to the presence of the odor of drugs in or on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted.
During the probable cause search hypodermic syringes, prescription narcotic pills and other drug paraphernalia were located. The operator Brown admitted that the syringes were used to inject heroin. Officers placed Brown and McGann under arrest and they were transported to Police Headquarters for processing.
McGann was issued a criminal citation and released from custody. Brown was taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was held on a $1,000.00 bond. At the Allegany County Detention Center Brown was searched per policy and found to be concealing contraband inside of her person. Additional charges will be filed through District Court on Brown.
