Early Saturday morning, Cumberland City Police officers were dispatched to a Baltimore Avenue residence in reference to a disturbance and possible violation of a Protective Order. Upon arrival to the scene officers located a victim and started an investigation. The victim indicated that suspect Eric Edward Plummer, 30, of Cumberland had arrived at their residence allegedly in violation of a court order to stay away. Plummer then allegedly forced his way into the residence, assaulted an occupant, as well as the victim and caused damage to the residence during an altercation. Plummer fled the area prior to officer’s arrival to the scene, however after a search of the immediate area officers were able to locate Plummer and place him under arrest. Officers confirmed that Plummer was in violation of a Protective Order and he was transported to Cumberland Police Headquarters for processing. He was charged with the following:
Burglary – Third Degree – 1 count
Burglary – Fourth Degree – 1 count
Violate Exparte Order – 1 count
Assault 2nd Degree – 2 counts
Plummer was processed and taken for a bond hearing at District Court. He was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $50,000.00 bond.
