On April 18, 2019 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department were patrolling in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue, when they were informed by a concerned citizen that individuals broke into a house located at 625 Maryland Avenue. Officers responded to that residence and observed the front door open. During a search of the residence, officers located four subjects sleeping inside various rooms. The subjects were identified as, Christopher Simmons, Elaina Harper, Perry Hamilton Jr. and Jerrica Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton and Mrs. Hamilton were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription medication that was not in a prescription bottle. During a check for wants and warrants officers learned that Mr. Simmons had a Circuit Court warrant for his arrest related to a Child Support hearing. All four subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. At the time of this release all four subjects were awaiting their initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
Arrested: Elaina Dawn Harper Age: 23 of Cumberland, Maryland
Charge: Breaking and Entering 4th Degree.
Arrested: Perry Nelson Hamilton Jr. Age: 38 of Cumberland, Maryland
Charges: Breaking and Entering 4th Degree, Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of CDS not marijuana.
Arrested: Christopher Scott Simmons Age: 26 of Cumberland, Maryland
Charges: Breaking and Entering 4th Degree and Circuit Court warrant related to a child support hearing.
Arrested: Jerrica Leigh Hamilton Age: 29 of Cumberland, Maryland
Charges: Breaking and Entering 4th Degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of CDS not marijuana.
