City Officials To Discuss Finding A New Location For Union Rescue Mission

Finding a new location for the Union Rescue Mission as well as addressing the former Brunswick property is a subject the Cumberland Mayor and City Council will be discussing this evening in closed session.  The Union Rescue Mission is located at 16 Gulf Memorial Drive, more commonly known as Queen City Pavement, has operated at the location for close to 60 years. With a need arising in recent years for more space, its executive director Pastor David Ziler has been looking for a potential alternate location. This, combined with the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation’s plans for a downtown redesign and expanding commercial opportunities, has led to recent talks about what officials hope would be a win-win result.  CEDC executive director Paul Kelly…

    Where oh where can we hide the poor from the delicate yuppie snobs??? How can we have our art shows and gay pride rallies with smelly poor people around?? Oh dear..
