On Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department served two arrest warrants on Dustin Michael Edwards. The warrants were issued by District Court in reference to incidents that took place on May 5th, and May 18th, 2020. On May 5th, police were called to speak with a complainant about an incident that took place at a Grand Avenue residence when Edwards is alleged to have threatened to cut off two individual’s fingers if they did not listen to him.
On May 18th, 2020 police also responded to the Grand Avenue residence for the report of an assault. When officers arrived, contact was made with a female victim that stated that she was assaulted by Edwards. He was charged with 3 counts of assault and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. Edwards was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
