In an effort to alleviate some parking issues downtown, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council took action Tuesday to amend the city’s ordinance pertaining to trucks, trailers and other large vehicles on public streets. Often times larger, sometimes commercial vehicles park for long stretches of time downtown, taking up several spaces and cutting into an already limited number of storefront spaces for those wishing to shop. City solicitor Mike Cohen said that the existing ordinance simply is inadequate and the changes should go a long way toward addressing the issue…
