The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce has sent a letter of support to the County Commissioners in favor of retaining a third party consultant to prepare an economic development strategic plan for the county. The letter, signed by Debra Langan, chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Kim Leonard, chair of the Chamber’s economic development committee said the chamber suggests that the study contain specific action items and measurable goals. While the chamber is fully behind the need for a plan, ironically the commissioners were split on the idea when it was put to a vote last month, with Commissioners Jake Shade and Creade Brodie Jr. in support- but Commissioner Bill Valentine not convinced…
