On 09/03/2017 at approximately 2:30 am Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cartridges Galore located at 1225C National Highway, LaVale for a burglar alarm.
Upon arrival deputies were met by the store owner who advised that a person or persons unknown had made entry into the store by busting a hole in the exterior concrete wall at the rear of the building. Deputies then found the hole in the exterior concrete wall which led into the business. Deputies along with Troopers from the Maryland State Police then made entry into and secured the business.
Once the business was secure the store owner did a walkthrough of the store and pointed out that entry was made into the store office. The owner also pointed out that the security camera in the office had been destroyed and the Security Camera DVR system had been removed.
The owner continued to assess the damage and property loss and advised that numerous items had been removed from a display case and numerous video games had been stolen. The owner could not initially provide a detailed list of all of the items taken or give an exact dollar amount for the loss but it is estimated to be thousands of dollars.
The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack, Crime Scene Technicians from the Maryland State Police Crime Lab and Detectives from C3I.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office at 301-777-1585 or C3I at 301-777-0326.
