Busy first week of the year for Frostburg Police

Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct: On Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at 1:40 p.m., Frostburg City Police officers were called to Meshach Frost Village for a female who was allegedly intoxicated and refusing to leave. Officers arrived and made contact with the female, identified as Katelin Marie Moorehead, 24, of Frostburg. Upon arrival, Meshach Frost Village staff reported that Moorehead had arrived there to perform community service work, but that she had been drinking alcoholic beverages, had been creating a disturbance, and was refusing to leave. They reported that they told her to leave several times, but she refused.

 

Officers contacted Moorehead, ordered her to leave the property, and warned her that she would be arrested if she failed to leave. Moorehead stated that she was not leaving, and she threw a glass bottle to the ground, shattering it, while yelling obscenities and drawing the attention of residents.
 

Moorehead was placed under arrest and transported to Frostburg City Police headquarters for processing.

 

Moorehead was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct and taken to a District Court Commissioner. Moorehead was released pending trial in District Court.

 

Domestic Assault: On Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 4:52 p.m., Frostburg City Police officers were called to a High Street residence for a reported domestic assault.

 

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female caller who alleged that her boyfriend, Richard Eugene Martin, 44, of Frostburg, had thrown her to the ground and punched her several times in the face and head area. Officers observed swelling and marks consistent with the allegation.

 

Officers contacted Martin who alleged that the female had assaulted him shortly before. Martin exhibited injury to his eye area and hands.
 

Officers placed Martin under arrest and charged him with second-degree assault. Martin was transported to the Frostburg City Police Department for processing and then to a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. Martin was released pending trial.
