Maryland Speaker of the House Michael Busch says the while there are a wide range of issues that will need to be addressed during the upcoming session of the General Assembly- getting the state’s fiscal house in order is at the top of the agenda, Busch, who has served as speaker since 2002 having succeeded Casper Taylor, says the issues include potential spending cuts, criminal justice reform and a worker sick leave bill. Looking at the budget, Busch says a major decline in revenue and a depleted reserve fund will create some challenges.
