It’s the first day of summer- and for Allegany County road crews that means the start of a busy season. Warmer weather usually leads to the department being inundated with calls and complaints about potholes and other issues. County Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr, as he does each summer, is urging residents to be patient with director Paul Kahl and the rest of the Public Works Department. Road repairs are costly and the county, he notes, does not have unlimited funding available.
