The Allegany County Board of Education will meet in special session tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Central Office of the Board to discuss capital improvement projects. The capital improvements priority list has become a hot topic in recent months with renovations necessary for Braddock and Washington middle schools and replacement recommended for Allegany High School. After a presentation earlier this month suggesting those projects, the board hopes to gain the support of Allegany County commissioners, who previously balked at placing the school construction projects on their Capital Improvements Project list, saying the county couldn’t afford them. School Board President Michael Llewellyn said with revised, lower cost figures now on the table, perhaps the board and the commissioners can agree on a long range plan that could see all three projects accomplished…
