The Allegany County Board of Education unanimously approved a new policy on the conduct of meetings last night.
The vote was unanimous.
The new policy will allow school board members three minutes of time at the end of each meeting during which they can respond to constituents who raise issues during public participation.
Board members won't be required to respond, and the board president will have the power to end a response if the president determines that it goes beyond the scope of what is legal to be made public.
There was little discussion of the matter before the vote.
