Board mum on superintendent search

May 18th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Its been almost two weeks since the announcement that Allegany County School Superintendent Dr David Cox would be vacating the position to take a job with the Sullivan County Tennessee public school system- and to date no public comments from the elected school board. A special Saturday afternoon meeting  was held at the board’s Washington Street offices- however it was primarily a closed session to address personnel. At one point board members Robert Farrell and Wayne Foote- each involved in separate legal issues with the board- left the session. They returned about 45 minutes later and the closed session continued for another 20 minutes. Following the meeting, Board President Farrell declined to comment on what was discussed saying only that the selection process to find Cox’ successor has not been finalized

They’re checkin’ every bit of Appalachia to find another hillbilly that won’t offend the local mindset of victimhood nor be too fussy about academics. We is fine as we is here long as someone gives a hundred million a year to run our guild.
