In the wake of last week's deadly shootings at the Navy installations in Tennessee, a Maryland lawmaker is proposing a bill to let Maryland National Guard soldiers carry weapons for protection while on base. He's been an airman in the Maryland National Guard for seven years, and Senate Minority Leader J.B. Jennings told WBAL radio that many of his fellow National Guard soldiers are worried about their safety, especially after last week's shootings in Chattanooga, where five sailors and Marines died.
