Housing Secretary Ben Carson is in Baltimore this week, and the former neurosurgeon's trip back was met with protesters. The protesters are upset with proposed cuts to the Housing and Urban Development budget that they believe will harm families and create more homeless nationwide. Carson was in Baltimore Wednesday for several private meetings, one of which was with Mayor Catherine Pugh and the city's housing team.
Carson made no comment as he left the Charles Benton Building in downtown Baltimore.
