House Republican Leaders Dels. Nic Kipke and Kathy Szeliga have appointed Del. Wendell Beitzel as a Deputy Minority Whip for the 2015 General Assembly Session. Beitzel represents Garrett County and western Allegany County. “Delegate Beitzel is a respected member of the General Assembly, and has forged strong relationships on both sides of the aisle,” Kipke, the House minority leader. “He is a strong voice for the concerns of rural Marylanders and will be a tremendous asset to our team.” “There has been a large turnover of delegates in the House,” said Beitzel. “As I start my ninth general session in the Maryland House of Delegates I welcome the opportunity to utilize my knowledge and experience with the new members of the caucus.” The 2015 legislative session began on January 14th and will adjourn at midnight on April 13th.
