On 2/22/2015 @ approximately 1230hrs the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to a Breaking and Entering to a residence in the Barton area that was in progress. Initial reports indicated that the home owner had both suspect detained and was waiting for law enforcement to arrive. Deputies arrived on scene and secured both suspects and after completing the initial investigation, the Sheriff’s Office determined that the two suspects detained, were the suspects that broke into the residence. Deputies determined that the home owners returned home from church and observed that the rear basement door to their residence had been kicked in. While the owner of the residence entered the basement, a family member went around the house to check the remaining doors. The son of the victim was walking around front of the residence, when two younger male suspects fled from inside the residence and out across the front lawn. The family member gave chase on foot and was able to detain one of the male subjects while the other male initially got away but he did recognize the suspect and knew where he lived. Other family members arrived at the victim’s residence and located the other male suspect a short distance away. The second male suspect was detained by the victims family and they waited for law enforcement to arrive. Both male suspects were arrested, Trent Lee Muir, 20 yr old was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Theft less than $1000.00, malicious destruction of property, contributing to a delinquency of a minor, and transported to a District Court commissioner where he was held on $25,000.00 bond. The second male suspect, a 15yrs old male was charged through Juvenile Services and released to a legal guardian.
