Barns Burns In Coney. Cause Unknown

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a blaze on Farm Hill Road in Lonaconing at a storage barn that was discovered burned down yesterday.  The barn was owned by Albert and Stella Green, and the loss is estimated at $50,000.  Right now, there are no leads in the investigation, and your help is sought.

Area of Origin:  interior 

Preliminary Cause: arson

Additional Information:  Barn was last accessed by relative on Sunday and barn was discovered burned down on Monday afternoon.  Building and contents, which included a Ford tractor, farm equipment, and various personal and antique items, were completely destroyed.   The Goodwill Fire Department was requested by the fire marshal to respond to extinguish hot embers due to the proximity to wooded areas and windy conditions.   Anyone with information is requested to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 301-766-3888.
