The application process for those seeking to fill a vacant seat on the Allegany County Board of Education closed Friday and a decision by Governor Larry Hogan is expected in the near future. On October 22nd the Maryland State Board of Education voted to remove Wayne Foote from the local board on charges of negligence and misconduct. At that time an estimated time frame to name a replacement was 30 to 45 days. While there has been speculation about possible candidates- nothing official in terms of names or even a number of applicants has been released by the governor’s office as it is being treated as a confidential personnel matter.
