Western Maryland anti fracking activists are conducting a volunteer kickoff meeting Sunday from 3 to 9. The group will be gathering at City Place in Frostburg to join together for a statewide ban on fracking. Organizers say it’s an opportunity for Western Marylanders to hear from legislators who are working on a ban bill as well as to educate the community about fracking and how they can be a part of the movement to ban fracking in Maryland. House of Delegate 1C representative Mike McKay says despite the many headlines and events being generated by anti-fracking groups- he believes that there is a silent majority in western Maryland that supports the concept.
