Allegany County Tourism is seeking applications for qualified tourism marketing and promotion focused projects through the newly launched Tourism Reinvestment Marketing Grant. The Tourism Reinvestment Marketing grant is made possible through the Hotel/Motel Tax collection through Allegany County, Maryland, lodging partners. A total of $25,000 has been allocated towards this new grant program for the fiscal year 2020, July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020.
Allegany County Tourism enhances the quality of life in Allegany County, Maryland, and strengthens destination awareness through promotion, development, and services that attract visitors to stay longer and spend more in our community. The Allegany County Tourism Reinvestment Marketing Grant’s purpose is to enhance the tourism experience, increase overnight stays in the county, generate visitor spending in-county, and to develop and grow the tourism products and destination awareness. This program is designed to create transparency, promote healthy competition, foster co-partnership throughout the county, and educate our community on the importance of hotel/motel tax being reinvested into programming and opportunities that generate tourism growth.
The Tourism Reinvestment Marketing Grant is a pilot program and will be available to qualifying 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations. Awards will be granted on the basis of merit, as determined by an Allegany County Tourism Grant Review Committee.
Completed applications are due to Allegany County Tourism by Friday, May 31, 2019, at 4:00 PM, and the announcement of funding will be made in early July.
