The city of Cumberland will be teaming with Allegany College of Maryland to see a new softball field constructed on the campus for shared use. The city was notified in late May by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources that its request for $120,000 through the Community Parks and Playground Program has been approved to construct the new “Cumberland and Allegany College Softball Field”.  City Administrator Jeff Rhodes said this week that the city can now move forward in accepting the grant and approving the necessary FY 2018 Budget Adjustments to reflect acceptance of the funding…
