Access To Public Restroom Facilities Big Part Of Downtown Re-Design Plan

While it may not seem like a big deal, one of the items receiving the most discussion when it comes to planning the re-design of the Downtown Cumberland Mall centers on restroom accommodations.  Estimated cost for the downtown project is between $5 million and $7.4 million. Plans include replacing underground utilities, restoring Baltimore Street with a one-way thoroughfare running from Mechanic Street to George Street and redesigning aesthetics. Paul Kelly, executive director of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation, told the Downtown Development Commission, that no final decisions have been made- but having access to public restroom facilities will be a big part of the overall plan…
