A recent Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (formerly Safe Streets) Program. The Warrant Initiative began Monday, December 10, and concluded Friday, December 14, 2018.
Our goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of open arrest warrants. The Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN) Operation continues to seek citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants.
This MCIN Initiative resulted in the arrest of Thirty-five (35) individuals on active arrest warrants, with a total of Forty-two (42) arrest warrants being served.
This was another successful operation conducted with Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputies and Troopers from the Maryland State Police, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.

It makes no sense to arrest someone on an FTA charge only to have them released on their own recognizance.
