National Federation of the Blind of Maryland Western Maryland Chapter
The Western Maryland chapter of the National Federation of the Blind is seeking new members as it starts its local membership drive! Are you blind, visually impaired or know someone who is or maybe you work with the visually impaired? Consider joining the state's fastest growing chapter here in Western Maryland. Hounds Around Town
Looking for a day filled with furry friends and fun? Then look no further than the Allegany County Animal Shelter's "Hounds Around Town" program, which allows individuals to sign a shelter dog out for the day. The most important thing is you are giving an adoptable shelter dog a much-needed break from the kennels and providing enrichment and socialization. Frankfort Althletic Booster Club Elimination Dinner
Come out and support the Frankfort Althletic Booster Club Elimination Dinner, being presented by UPMC Western Maryland, Saturday, March 1st at Brookdale Farms Stadel. The Falcons Flight to Fund event will have $3500 in cash prizes, a DJ and fun all evening long. Attendees must be 21 years old to participate. St. Paul Lutheran Church Ash Wednesday
A series of special obervances have been scheduled for Ash Wednesday at St. Paul Luthern Church on March 5th at 15 N. Smallwood Street. The church sanctuary will be open at 7:00AM to noon and from 1:00PM to 7:00PM for people to receive the imposition of ashes. At noon, there will an ecumenical Ash Wednesday serivce in the sanctuary, jointly with Emmanuel Episcopal Church. The service beginning at 7:00PM will include Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes. For the following six Wednesdays, evening vespers will follow "They Will Be Done" a series of services written by the Rev. Justin Rossow that focus on God's will at work. Vespers is at 6:00PM in the lower level Martin Luther Chapel, which can be accessed by parking on the circle in front of the church. For more information please visit www.stpaulcumberland.org.

The Soroptimist International of Frostburg is hosting Vendor BINGO, Thursday, March 6th at their new location, Lashbaugh West, 210 West Main Street in Frostburg. Murder at the Museum
The Allegany Museum and Embassy Theatre are teaming up for the 2nd Annual "Murder at the Museum" event, Thursday, April 3rd, Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th, at 6:00PM in the Allegany Museum Ballroom, 3 Pershing Street. A thrilling and fun filled evening of mystery, music, and nostagia as the ballroom is transformed into a high school dance scene, as attendees are transported back to 1950 "Rock and Roll Murder". Drinks will be available at a cash bar, and light refreshments will be set at each table. Attendees will be invited to guess the murderer by ballot at the end of the performance. Prizes for the winners include a Whiskey Rebellion ticket and a Triple Play theatrical event pass from the Embassy Theatre.
