The Young Adult Health Insurance Subsidy program has passed both chambers in Maryland. The program uses premium subsidies to help more than 64,000 young Marylanders between ages 18 and 37 enroll in insurance coverage through the state’s Health benefits Exchange. Maryland Healthcare For All spokesman Vinny DeMarco says the legislation benefits everyone…
“This additional money has allowed them to get the healthcare they need and that helps all of us because when more young people are on the health insurance roll it keeps our premiums down. So, it’s a win-win for the state of Maryland, and we’re thrilled that the General Assembly has passed it and that Governor Moore will sign it and make this program permanent.”
