The work put in by the West Virginia Department of Transportation in implementing the state’s Roads to Prosperity program is paying off for citizens. The $2.8 billion dollar program has enabled the completion of 1,263 bridge and highway projects and paved approximately 9,000 miles of road, more than at any time in the state’s history. Governor Jim Justice said the state has turned around a bad situation where some roads were so damaged people could not get to the grocery store.
