West Virginia State Police recently conducted a work zone safety sweep along parts of Interstate 64. During the action, law enforcement stopped 146 vehicles and issued 105 speeding tickets. Officer tracked vehicles with radar and others were chased down. The fastest vehicle stopped was clocked at 94 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour work zone. The West Virginia Department of Transportation urges drivers to pay attention and obey traffic laws in all work areas.
