West Virginia State Treasurer Riley Moore announced that the state’s SMART529 WV Direct Plan has been ranked by national information service Saving For College as a “Top of the Class” savings plan. West Virginia’s 529 plan is a qualified tuition program issued by the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia College and Jumpstart Savings Programs that allows investments to accumulate tax-free and remain so if distributions are used for qualified higher education expenses including tuition, room, and board without limit on how much can be saved.
